"Safer than not filtering and reduces buying bottled water. I haven’t tested all that it filters. I have used it sometimes at work when the water tastes funny, during boil water notices, and when hiking/backpacking. I do question on the purification part. I tested the water post filter with a TDS tester and the result is the same as tap water pre-filter. Not sure if that should be the case. I would still use and recommend the product with questionable waters. Especially if traveling in other countries."

"After reading a review where it was suggested that a camera lens tether would work to secure the cap, I bought one for my newly-purchased Grayl. But the tether didn't hold the cap and now I have a $74 item that I can't use. Glad to see one can purchase a replacement cap, but I resent having to pay the cost of the item plus shipping. As others have said, it's a serious design flaw in a high-priced item. Grayl should take responsibility: 1) Redesign the product so that the cap is secured. 2) Offer to replace the cap free of charge as a one-time thing if the cap gets lost."

"These caps came quickly, and the color availability is great. The design is as unthoughtful as possible. Its a potential lifesaving device and the twist off cap, easily comes off just being bumped around in the pack. With no retention wire, my son lost his before ever using it once. Disappointing. Grayle purifiers are the best in the world, easily. I expect better design quality from this company."
